Bkplt, wear to edges, some old marking else VG clean copy in full contemporary calf attractively rebacked with red gilt label. Nice copy of famous text. The author knew Newton & edited the 3rd edn of Newton’s ‘Principia’. With the comment p [ix] ‘as he sat alone in the garden, he fell into a speculation on the power of gravity’.
