The First UK printing published by The Seizin Press/Constable & Company Ltd, London in 1937. The BOOK is in Very Good ++ or better condition with light pushing at the upper spine and one small rub to the lower front corner. The red top-stain is present but faded. One previous owner's contemporary name and date to the upper front blank end-paper. The tipped in map is present to the last page. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ or better condition with some rubbing to the spine ends and folds. A little loss at the upper spine tip. A small closed tear to the upper spine fold and the upper front edge. A small piece of tape reinforcement to the verso of the lower spine end. The wrapper design (? John Aldridge) looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. Riding's first novel and the final Seizin book is a revisioning of the Trojan War and an attempt to make it relevant to the Twentieth Century. Very scarce.
