Copy no 50 of 65. One of only 65 copies with a set of six signed engravings. Philip Pullman has also handwritten a quotation from the text, which is also signed and dated. . Small folio. 43pp. Half maroon calf with gilt over marbled papers, hand-bound by Smith Settle. Top edge gilt. Maroon silk page marker. Original handmade maroon cloth slipcase with leather edges. This edition is limited to 315 signed and numbered copies. The first 65 copies are accompanied by a set of signed engravings. Copies 16 - 65 are printed letterpress on mould-made Somerset paper. Typeset in Caslon. Text and engravings printed by Hand & Eye Letterpress, London. ‘This book tells of the great fight between the bear kings, as chronicled in Northern Lights.’ An absolutely fabulous book.
Dealer Notes
Three wood engraved decorated initials; wood engraved title page and two other wood engraving by Andy English, two wood engravings by Harry Brockway and two wood engravings by Chris Daunt. Also at the rear of the book a gilt emblazoned pocket housing the two wood engravings by each of the three artists. These wood engravings have each been signed by their artists and countersigned by Philip Pullman. Book and slipcase in fine condition.
