A Midsummer Night's Dream, Othello, The Merchant of Venice, Romeo & Juliet and Taming of the Shrew - Five miniature volumes with hallmarked silver front panels and oak and silver bookstand by Levi & Sallaman, Birmingham 1904

Book Description
A 7.2 cm square, oak base with hallmarked silver ends containing 5 leather bound miniature books 3.4 x 5.2 cm each with gilt stamped titles to the front and spine. Top edge gilt, with black endpapers, the plays are printed on India paper. Each volume has a hallmarked silver front cover that has been applied to the front board. The books are a little rubbed on the spine tips as is the gilt on the front covers. The Merchant of Venice and Romeo and Juliet have minor loss to the spine tips and there is a tiny split of 3mm at the bottom of the rear cover of Romeo and Juliet which also has a crack/repair to the front hinge. The silver covers are bright with clear hallmarks that match those on the book ends. An unusual, scarce, highly decorative miniature set.
