Despite the title which seems to concentrate on salt, this compendium covers everything taxable: beer, wines and spirits, cider and mum, sweets, vinegars, whalefins, pearl ashes and of course tobacco. The majority of the book is printed in black letter. A gives a complete picture of economic activity at the end of the 17th Century.
