A COCKNEY AMONG THE REDS ; An account of an Englishmans experiences in Soviet Russia after the revolution
An excellent copy of the extremely scarce First Edition, in original dustwrapper 8vo.237pps. Frontispiece and two inserted plates. The author was born in Libau Latvia but had lived most of his life from the age of six months in Bethnal Green but for some reason his parents Zalig & Asna Falkson did not have him registered as a naturalised English citizen; he was therefore considered Latvian, which was then a part of Russia consequently when the war broke out the government offered him the option of enlisting in the British Army or the Russian and he chose the latter, quickly finding himself stranded in Russia with no money, friends, or way back to England. His descendants are now scattered across the world.
