Book Description
The First UK printing published by Secker and Warburg in 1989. The BOOK is in near FINE condition and appears unread. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near FINE condition. It has a few superficial ripples to the front and rear covers which are a minor production fault when the cover laminating process occurred .It has the merest hint of fading to the spine and a little creasing to the upper and lower edges adjacent to the spine. It is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. This copy is No. 55 of '150 numbered copies' Signed by all 32 contributors and including an unpublished print which is Signed by the photographer Donovan Wylie. Only 100 copies were for sale, 50 having being reserved for the contributors. The 8 x 10 signed print in this copy, housed in an envelope on the front pastedown, is of Co. Galway. The Thirty-two contributors' signatures are on a sheet bound in at the end and are as follows: Seamus Heaney ('County Derry: Five Derry Glosses'), William Trevor, John Banville, Emma Cooke, Anne Devlin, Eilis Dillon, Christopher Fitz-Simon, Michael Hartnett, Dermot Healy, Aidan Higgins, Desmond Hogan, Neil Jordan, Maeve Kelly, Brendan Kennelly, Benedict Kiely, Thomas Kilroy, Michael Longley, Eugene McCabe, John McGahern, Medbh McGuckian, Frank McGuinness,Tom MacIntyre, Aidan Mathews, Brian Moore, Paul Muldoon, Nuala ni Dhomhnaill, Edna O'Brien, Frank Ormsby, James Plunkett, Peter Sirr, Francis Stuart and Sean J.
