Book Description

Large folding Stanford map of Sussex East and West 6" to a mile scale, measuring unfolded 60" x 17". Sections, linen backed. The map appears to have been repurposed and a handwritten title added "Crown Lands North of Brighton". Areas of the map have been hand-coloured and neat ink and pencil annotations refer to land sold to railway companies and sales of parcels of land. Some woodland areas marked 'Sporting', shooting estates, perhaps. Possibly annotated by an estate manager for the Crown. Comes in its original, good condition, minor wear, green cloth slipcase.
