Book Description
This is a lovely old Victorian album of original landscape paintings and other artwork pieces, bound in red hardcovers with an old leather patchwork repair, internally runs to thirty eight used pages, with thirty two original paintings, the majority of the scenes are captioned and dated and include scenes of Wadhurst in East Sussex, the village of Stock in Essex, scenes in Derbyshire including Bakewell, Monsal Dale, Lathkill Dale, Hulme Bridge Bakewll, Millers Dale, Winnats Pass Castleton, Arbor Low Stone Circle, The Longshaw Moors, The Stepping Stones Bakewell, Rowsley Derbyshire etc along with a few Caricature paintings including John Bull, and other printed pieces, there is no obvious signature in the book to identify who the artist is the whole of the contents are pictured so quality and condition can be seen, it is obviously at least two pages have been removed at one time else as seen, covers worn and marked, the paintings have been fixed into the book with tabs to each corner album measures 15 inches by 11 inches approx.
