1837 England’s Topographer or Moule’s English Counties in the 19th Century The English Counties Delineated or a Topographical Description of England illustrated by a Map of London and a Complete Series of County Maps
Published in London by George Virtue in 1837 this is a scarce complete First Edition example of Moule’s English Counties in Two Volumes, containing a full series of English County Maps and other maps, plans and charts, including a folding map of England and Wales, and a folding map of London, and one of the Metropolitan borough, with thirty five maps in volume one and twenty seven in volume two, all collated and complete, bound in half leather bindings titled in gilt to the spines, 11 inches tall approx., apart from light rubbing wear, the bindings are in very good condition, internally the larger folding map of England and Wales has had two tissue tape repairs to the printed side of the map, one to a diagonal tear at base, and the other to a split on a fold line on left hand edge (pictured) there is a tear to the Folding London Street Map with no loss or repair, also a repair to a page edge tear (pictured) with no loss, foxing and browning to a number of the maps with some offsetting, heavier foxing marks to a few of the text pages and maps, but overall in pretty decent condition, with a number of the maps showing no foxing at all, A VERY ACCEPTABLE EXAMPLE OF THE FIRST EDITION WITH ALL THE MAPS PRESENT
