Published in London in 1815, this is the second edition of Bakewell’s Introduction to Geology, which was considerably enlarged
The first edition ran to 362 pages, and had five plates
This the second edition runs to 492 pages and is illustrated with seven plates
Bound in an attractive recent quarter leather binding with marbled paper covered boards, 8.25 inches tall approx.
The binding in in very nice condition, internally heavy foxing to opening and closing few pages, occasional foxing within, with some browning to pages, the larger folding plate (pictured) has a split that runs through one of the fold lines for most of its length, else in good general condition
