The manuscript was smuggled out of prison & in 1970 a copy delivered to Timothy and Rosemary Leary in Algiers who endorsed the book & added a postscript freeform poem titled "The Wanderers". Published by the authors in 1971 the book became an underground classic of the psychedelic era & was compared to the writings of Genet, Burroughs & Ginsberg, 128 pages.
