In the 1530s William Tyndale translated the first fourteen books of the Old Testament into English from the original Hebrew, a translation that laid the foundation of all subsequent English Bibles, including the celebrated Authorised Version (King James Bible) of 1611.This volume contains the Pentateuch of 1530, Joshua to 2 Chronicles of 1537 and Jonah.It is in a modern-spelling edition with an introduction by David Daniell, biographer of Tyndale.
