Original black cloth with gilt lettering on the spine. The ends of the book spine are a little bumped. The book has a very slight lean. Contents are clean and bright. The dust jacket is protected by a clear film. Some gentle creasing and light wear at the edges but very good condition. 443pp 8vo

The Night Manager is Le Carre's first post Cold war novel featuring Jonathan Pine, a former British soldier turned night manager, who works undercover to bring down an international arms dealer. John Le Carre (David John Moore Cornwall) is a former intelligence officer who turned to writing after the success of his third novel, The Spy Who Came In From The Cold (1963). He became an international best seller and has received numerous awards. These include, British Crime Writers Association Diamond Dagger Lifetime Achievement Award (1988), Honorary Doctorate of Bern and Oxford plus the Goethe Medal of the Goethe Institute. The Night Manager was successfully adapted for a television series in 2016. This was directed by Susanne Bier featuring Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie and Olivia Colman as the main characters.
