12mo (182 by 115 mm). pp. xi, [1] Blank], [1] Dedication to Robert Payley, 2-96. Original brown patterned cloth with green paper printed label to upper board. Paper label a little faded and dusty looking. Some soil marks to the upper board and small areas of bubbling to cloth. Hinges are just starting but sound. Some light scattered spotting to endpapers, and small loss to part of top blank edge of one leaf (p63/64) where it may have been roughly opened, otherwise text clean and quite bright looking. A good copy of this uncommon title. Copac locates only 4 copies of this 1842 edition, although there were later copies published in 1847 and 1860.

Alfred Smith, Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of London, surgeon to the Ripon Dispensary advises on the medicinal properties of the Harrogate waters and there use. In particular the Sulphur and Chalybeate Waters.
