The first issue First Edition with "Rowntree" blocked to the front board.Large Octavo 9½"x8 original publishers cloth, top edge gilt and partially un-opened. Presentation inscription facing the half-title to " W.J.Somerset Pennefather [Vicar of Kensington] from his loving mother commemorating the birth of his two sons.Colour frontispiece of St Andrews and 63 tipped in plates with captioned tissue guards as called for.[Including the Irish Courses removed from the second edition] Quite a bit of foxing foxing and slight fading to the cloth but a clean solid copy with an interesting provenance. The cornerstone of any golfing library see Donovan & Murdoch.
