A RARE BIOGRAPHY OF AN EARLY RAILWAY PIONEER (1907)

Pease, Sir Alfred (editor)

The Diaries of Edward Pease. The Father of English Railways

Published: Headley Brothers, London

Date: 1907

First edition, frontispiece, 407pp, 12 illustrations, light grey cloth covers, gilt titles to spine. The contents are in excellent condition with some initials on the front paste down. The covers are in excellent order with a couple of minor marks and a slightly browned spine. Overall a handsome copy of a rare book, only the second I've had. Edward Pease was a woollen manufacturer and was the main promoter of the Stockton & Darlington Railway. The author, Sir Alfred Pease, was Edward Pease's nephew.
