Illustrated with colour and black and white photographs throughout. Very good in blue cloth-covered boards with silver titles to spine. Pictorial pastedowns and endpapers showing maps of the Antarctic region. Fore-edge of text-block heavily speckled foxed, not affecting interior pages, apart from bleeding through to very extremities of page margins. Spine tight. Small inscription. In a very good pictorial dustwrapper, which has not been price-clipped, showing original publisher's price of 30 s net. 338 pages including index. Size 228 mm x 148 mm.
