A Set of three titles comprising 'The Country Girls' series. All are First UK printings published between 1960 and 1964. The set comprises of: 'The Country Girls' (Published by Hutchinson in 1960): The BOOK is in near FINE condition and is free of inscriptions. A little toning to the text block. A light small mark to the front blank end paper with a few spots to the end papers. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ or better condition. Mild edge-wear at the spine ends. Light spotting in places with a small mark to the upper rear flap corner. Only very light toning to the spine. 'The Lonely Girl' (Published by Jonathan Cape in 1962): The BOOK is in near FINE condition and is free of inscriptions. The green top-stain is still present. Tiny bump to the upper front corner.The WRAPPER is complete and is in near FINE condition with only very light toning to the spine. 'Girls in their Married Bliss' (Published by Jonathan Cape in 1964): The BOOK is in near FINE condition and is free of inscriptions. The grey top-stain is still present. Very Light toning to the text-block. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition. There is some mild edge-wear at the spine ends and corners. The colouring remains bright. Small light mark to the lower spine. All wrappers are protected in removable Brodart archival protectors. All three volumes have been SIGNED to the title page by Edna O'Brien. A ticket for the signing event accompanies this set as provenance. The set is also accompanied by the 'The Country Girls' play adaptation published by Faber in 2011. This is the First UK printing and was only published in a wrappered edition. It is in Fine condition and also been Signed by Edna O'Brien to the title page. An extremely attractive scarce set of the acclaimed Irish trilogy. More images available on request.
