The First UK Printing published by Gollancz in 1933. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. The correct first issue with orange boards and black titling to the spine. Some sunning to the spine. Slight dustiness and spotting to the text-block. Small neat previous owner's name to upper front blank end-paper. Light spotting to prelims with light toning to the page edges. Mild vertical crease to front blank end paper. A tight copy. NO Wrapper. Accompanied by a typed letter on 'House of Commons' headed paper (dated 24th 1976) and flat signed 'Shirley Williams'. Shirley Williams ( Now Baroness Williams) is the daughter of Vera Brittain. In the latter Shirley Williams discusses reasons for her mother's 'eclipse' and her thinking about the reprinting of 'Testament of Youth': '....and I assure you that I will certainly do what I can to try to keep my mother's work alive...'. Clearly back in 1976 , 'Testament of Youth' was out of print!. A major WW1 title and highly collectible
