This is a 1st H/Bk copy of “Sketches of the Natural History of Ceylon” by Sir J. Emerson Tennent, KCS LL.D &c, published by Longman, Green, Longman and Roberts, London in 1861. The book has more than 500 pages of text and illustrations and includes a monograph of The Elephant. The book was published earlier in 2 volumes. The book is bound in maroon cloth with leather spine and quarters. There is some foxing to the end papers but it is fine internally. There is a previous owners name on the front end paper in pencil and some numbers inside the front board in pencil but nothing else. The corners and edges are bumped and rubbed but the binding is tight. A nice copy. If you have any questions about the book or its content please email me.
