Roman Vishniac

Roman Vishniac received a microscope as a child, he used a camera to take micro and macro photographs. In 1951, he dedicated himself to this work. The book is half dedicated to scientific photography and half to the disappeared world in black and white of the Jews of Eastern Europe before the holocaust. Book edited by International Center of Photography (ICP). Colr and Black and white photographs. Signed and inscribed by Vishniac "To Mr A Rosenthal with my deepest regards Roman Vishniac". The book was apparently purchased from Albi Rosenthals daughter. Mr. Rosenthal was a bookdealer in Munich who was forced to leave under Nazi rule.
