Stevens, Mark and Brown, Kathan

Richard Diebenkorn. Etchings and Drypoints 1949-1980.

Published: Houston, Texas: Houston Fine Art Press, 1981.

First edition. White textured cloth lettered in maroon, and pictorial dustjacket. 128pp, folio. Published in relation to an exhibition of Diebenkorn's intaglio prints touring to various public galleries in America, produced with the artist's assistance, and including a catalogue raisonné with small images. The main part of the book has one reproduction per page, some in colour, but many of the prints were made in black and white. Diebenkorn had been making prints, many of the human figure and others more akin to his colour-field paintings, for most of his career; in later years he used the Crown Point Press, directed by Kathan Brown. Main text is an essay by Mark Stevens. A beautifully produced book.

Fine in Fine jacket.Minor bumps to top cover edges.
