first edition small 4to vi, (7)-44, [2 (advt)]pp. with title page printed in red and black, 20 plates with tissue guards (of which 12 are illuminated printed in gilt and colours and the remainder printed in purple inside a purple border), ornament initials and head and tail pieces in red and text inside a double rule red border, original navy blue cloth over bevelled boards, blind blocked borders on sides and front cover with a very large gilt blocked design incorporating lettering (designed by De La Motte incorporating his name into the blocking), edges gilt,

terminal leaves slightly foxed, else a fine fresh copy. Rare in this condition.
