Bound by the Fine Bindery. Signed in pencil by the artist on colophon. 8vo (22cm). 84pp. Quarter-bound berry oasis leather; gilt title; over printed boards; matching mauve endpapers to coordinate with paper covered folder and slipcase; unmarked, unblemished throughout; one slight darkened spot on back of slipcase; otherwise a truly fine and gorgeously presented copy.

Foreword by John Randle. Until 2001, O’Connor, issued a monthly wood-engraving for publication in Richard Ingram’s Oldie magazine. The Whittington Press gathered together thirty-six of these engravings for inclusion in People & Places. O’Connor attended the Royal College of Art (1933-1937), where he studied with Eric Ravilious, John Nash and Robert Austin. O’Connors works are held by Arts Council, the Tate Gallery, The British Museum, The Contemporary Art Society as well as the Oslo Museum, the Zurich Museum and the New York Central Library. He was elected to the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1947 and to the Royal Watercolour Society in 1974.
