Legends and Lyrics

Published: Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1866

Hardback. 330pp. 220 by 170mm (8¾ by 6¾ inches). This edition combines both sets of Legends and Lyrics, collections of poems by Queen Victoria's favourite poet, originally published in two separate volumes. With an Introduction by Charles Dickens. Half-bound in leather with gilt titles and decorative gilt motifs to the spine, gilt to all edges, marbled boards and endpapers. Black and white plates throughout by W.T.C. Dobson, Samuel Palmer, J. Tenniel, George H. Thomas, Lorenz Froelich, W. H. Millais, G. Du Maurier, W. P. Burton, J. D. Watson, Charles Keene, J. M. Carrick, M. E. Edwards, T. Morten. Some wear to edges and corners; first two pages (including portrait frontispiece) have a water mark at the top edge, otherwise a really very nice copy.

Very good copy
