The 390 Steps (1935)

I don't know how many steps there are to my stand on the third floor. It would be fun if there were 39, and I'm going to count them as soon as I get there. What I do know is that it's well worth the climb up to The Antiquarian Book Company at stand 199. Indeed, York-lore has it that when the doors open the canniest customers visit the top floor first, by-passing the scrum on the ground floor and hunting out the bargains in relative peace and quiet. Bargains, in fact, like this one - the best and earliest 'film edition' of 'The 39 Steps' on the market. I'll be bringing plenty of other thrilling fiction as well, so give your rivals the slip and take those 39 steps before they do...

Date: 1935

1935 'seventeenth edition' but the first film edition - it appears in this format for editions eighteen and nineteen at least, right up to 1938. Hardback, excellent wrapper with a few tiny chips.
