FIRST EDITION. SIGNED by the author. Octavo, pp.Publisher's black cloth-effect paper over boards with foil stamped revolver emblem, in Richard Chopping designed dust-wrapper priced at 13s.6d. Boldly signed by Ian Fleming to the flyleaf. Both book and wrapper are used, showing some general wear and tear, soiling etc., but remain presentable with no significant defects. Very good overall. Housed in an attractive collector's clamshell case. One of the more elusive Ian Fleming titles to obtain signed. This entry in the legendary James Bond series is an absolute classic; 007 does battle with SMERSH, the Soviet organisation of vengeance, interrogation, torture and death, and in particular their fearsome executioner Red Grant. Basis for the 1963 film starring Sean Connery, Robert Shaw and Daniela Bianchi.
