Includes surprising Art Nouveau-style head- and tail-pieces. An attractive copy of a scarce edition. Smith (1832-1903) was a Seventh-day Adventist minister, educator, and theologian, as well as an inventor, poet and illustrator. Smith was perhaps best known as long-time editor of the Adventist newspaper, Review and Herald.
