First edition. VG showing slight bumping and rubbing. Some foxing and light toning to the endpapers. There are no ink marks or writing. A clean example in VG dustwrapper ( illustrated by William Crosbie), showing overall minor wear, chipping, some discolouration, bumping and rubbing. Overall, a very pleasing example. The dustwrapper is housed in a protective removable sleeve. Rare, only one copy in auction in 20 years. 11204

Somhairle MacGill-Eain a key force in the revitalisation of the Gaelic language in the mid 20th Century. He began writing poetry in the 1930's, breaking from Gaelic traditional work by tackling subjects such as contemporary politics. In November 1943, his first individual collection of poems was published: Dàin do Eimhir agus Dàin Eile (Poems to Eimhir and Other Poems). It became one of the most important books published in Gaelic in the 20th century.
