A New Impression. A very good example bound by Zaehnsdorf in full green polished calf leather with double gilt ruling and floral design to each corner of both boards, a very fine gilt emblem to upper board, five raised bands to the spine, each with floral gilt design, floral gilt design to five of the bands and brown title label with gilt lettering to the other. Marbled endpapers with gilt dentelles to inner boards, ribbed gilt decoration to outer boards' edges, silk head and tail bands and all edges gilt. Binder's stamp to base of ffep. Prize binding from Uppingham Boarding School with Honoris Causa plate to front endboard awarded to Carolo Fawcett Bennion. Fading to the spine and boards' edges as seen in photos and light marks to the boards but overall a beautiful and solid binding. Internally clean, with inscription from 1969 to ffep and slight rubbing to outer page's corners as seen in photos. 855pp.
