Life story of John Frederick Mortlock who returned from India expecting to inherit a fortune upon the death of his Father, only to discover that it had been spent to pay off his debts.He believed his Uncles had defrauded him out of the Cambridge family banking fortune and upon assaulting one of them was detained and convicted and found guilty. He was transported for a term of twenty one years.
