The First UK printing published by Faber and Faber in 1935.The BOOK is tight and in near FINE condition. Light pushing to the spine tips with a hint of fading to the spine.Gilt titling remains very bright.Light spotting to the text block and end papers.Occasional spot in places otherwise a very clean copy free from inscriptions.The fragile paper WRAPPER is complete and is in near FINE condition.Small closed tear to lower rear spine fold and also to upper rear edge. Colouring remains very bright.Minor edge wear in places.The iconic deco wrapper design of Alfred Maurer looks superb in the removable Brodart archival protector.This title is accompanied by the Faber review slip which is in near FINE condition which has some pencilled comments on the verso in an unknown hand.A very presentable copy of a scarce and fragile item.The authors first novel and No. 22 on the Modern Library's list of the best 100 novels of the 20th century.The story describes how, over the course of three days, Julian English destroys himself with a series of impulsive acts, culminating in suicide.
