Small folio, limited edition of 210 copies, this set numbered 94 and signed by the author. VOLUME I – xxi included folding map mounted on linen + 127 illustrations each with accompanying text and blank leaves; VOLUME II – [ii] + 110 illustrations each with accompanying text and blank leaves + Addenda of Unclassified Prints (35 illustrations and accompanying text) + A Diary of Whitby Events 30pp + Indices 11pp + Names of Subscribers [7] pp; both bound in matching white cloth boards with the Arms of Whitby Abbey to upper boards and titles to spines in gilt. Light foxing to the contents and minor marks to the covers, otherwise a superb example of a rare work. Laid in is a publisher’s ALS advising that at the time of writing less than 30 copies were unscubscribed for and encouraging additional purchases!
