A fine example from one of the most influential atlases of the eighteenth century showing, amongst other features, post stages, turnpike roads and the remains of Roman roads. There is an inset view of Kingston upon Hull and an epitomised map of the East Riding. The map is bordered by 'Historical Extracts relating to its Natural produce, Mines, Minerals, Manufactures, Trade, etc.' A clean split to the base of the centre fold has been repaired.
