DRIED ALAGAE SPECIMENS "Algae Britannicae or Dried Specimens of Marine Plants, named according to Professor Harvey's Phycologia Britannica.Twelve specimens pasted on to album leaves. The album approx 11.5 cm x 18.5 cm, bearing ownership inscriptions "Edith Back" and , partially erased, "F.E.Gray". Alas , we can find no connection with Asa Gray, the most important American botanist of the C19th. The specimens are carefully mounted and have manuscript inscriptions showing Series, Family, and Genus, together with Latin name. No date, but about 1860?
