A HANDSOME COPY OF JOHN BOURNE'S WORK ON STEAM ENGINES

Bourne, John (editor):

A Treatise on the Steam Engine in its Application to Mines, Mills, Steam Navigation and Railways

Published: Longman Brown Green and Longmans, London, (1855)

Date:

Longman Brown Green and Longmans, London, 1855. Hardcover. Condition: Good. New Edition, 258pp, 33 plates (some folding), 349 engravings, half leather marbled boards, with gilt title and raised bands to spine. The contents are in excellent condition, with foxing to the earlier and later pp and plates. A short tape repair is noted to one page (see my image). The boards are a little rubbed and the book has been rebacked by my bookbinder, retaining the original spine covering. Overall a handsome copy of Bourne's seminal work.
