First edition in one volume of this famous work, later reissued as 'A Tour in Wales Vol. I'. Modern half-leather, black label with gilt lettering on spine. Blue marbled boards. Interior has occasional light brown spots but largely clean and bright.

Thomas Pennant (1726-98) was a renowned naturalist and antiquary from Flintshire. This work is widely seen as the best account of North Wales as it appeared to visitors in the late 18th Century. This first volume mainly covers North East Wales.
