A SEMINAL TREATISE ON MINE ENGINEERING FROM 1869

Greenwell, G. C.

A Practical Treatise on Mine Engineering

Published: M & M W Lambert, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, 1869,

Date:

Second edition, large quarto, prelims, 255pp, 64 coloured plates, half tan leather over green textured cloth boards, raised bands to spine. The contents are generally in good order with minor marks here & there - there is a former owner's name in pencil at the front (Joseph Brown, Moorsley Colliery, Durham). The plates, which are as called for, are also in very good, clean condition. The front hinge is parting but still holding firmly. The covers are quite worn, the leather is rubbed and scuffed with a little splitting at the top and bottom of the spine. Overall a good copy of Greenwell's seminal work - the plates are spectacular!
