This is a fascinating original Manuscript document titled, Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton Dudley and Birmingham Railway, concerning a planned New Railway Line from Wolverhampton in the West Midlands ( Staffordshire ) towards Birmingham. there are no handwritten dates within the document, but it has been written on Handmade Afonwen Mill paper watermarked 1837 the document consists of two folded sheets of paper titled on the front and inner pages, and four hand drawn folding maps and plans, along with two handwritten pages of notes on the land the proposed line is running through, The First map is a large hand drawn folding coloured map of Wolverhampton town centre measuring 18 inches by 14 inches approx. showing the street plan and the course of the proposed railway line. The second map is a large folding hand drawn coloured plan showing the elevation and the roads that the line with pass through, this measures 26 inches by 10 inches approx.. The third map is of the area of Tipton and Rowley Regis showing the proposed route of the line, this measures 26 inches by 10 inches approx.. the fourth map is a plan of that section of the railway showing the elevation and road intersections, this measures 24 inches by 10 inches approx., the document is 13 inches tall the maps which are drawn on tissue paper have some noticeable creasing else in good condition will be posted rolled in a tube to avoid any further creasing the document has been stored rolled A RARE ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPT DOCUMENT AND MAP OF PLANS TO BUILD A RAILWAY FROM WOLVERHAMPTON TOWARDS BIRMINGHAM
