George Taylor & Andrew Skinner

1776 Road Map of Scotland

Published: Published for the Authors as the Act directs the 20th March 1776

Date: [ 1776 ]

Published in 1776, this is a nice example of Taylor & Skinner’s Road Map of Scotland in its original soft leather covers that’s folds down to a pocket size small enough to fit into a Stage Coach Driver’s pocket, the leather covers have a few shallow chips at fold points else is in a nice general condition, title label to cover worn at edges but still retains most of the lettering, internally the main title page is heavily browned where is has reacted with the covers else rest of contents generally clean, unfortunately it is lacking the general folding map of Scotland, otherwise all the other Sixty one maps are present, with some corner curling and mild edge wear else contents in good general condition. Given how many of these books have been broken for the maps it may be possible to locate the general map being sold separately somewhere. Lacking the general map of Scotland else a nice example of this early road map of Scotland in its original soft leather covers
