This is an interesting item, a well-made wooden Box with closeable lid Containing Approximately One Hundred and Fifty Six Original Mining Related Glass Negative Slides with a Paper Label on the box lid Inscribed “Statham's Text Book” , these are Probably some of the Original Negatives of the Photographs used for I.C.F. Statham’s Treatise on “Coal Mining Practice”, (1958) the negatives depict Mining apparatus, Tools, Breathing Equipment, Drilling Techniques, Open Cast, Drilling, Explosives, Visit to A Colliery Etc. there was a leather carrying strap fitted to the box which is no longer present, internally corner chips to a few of the negatives but most are in good condition, there appears to be a few duplications among the slides, generally in good original state. A very nice Coal Mining related item
